Part time (21.25 hours per week), 8.15am - 1.00pm each day with a 30 minute unpaid break for lunch, Monday to Friday. Term time only to start in September 2017.
Applications are invited from high quality candidates to join an exciting and committed Primary team to assist students in their learning.
We are seeking a dedicated individual who has a passion for helping young people and who is committed to raising the attainment and aspiration of our students. The successful candidate will be expected to work under the direction of the class teacher to support the children across a number of curriculum areas, including small group work.
You will have:
- A desire to take an active part in ensuring all students achieve more than they ever thought possible.
- A GCSE grade of C or higher in English and Mathematics (or equivalent qualification)
- A proficiency in improving basic numeracy and literacy with specialist skills in literacy that will enable you to work with targeted individuals.
You may also have learning support qualifications or a PGCE. At Merchants’ Academy we value professional development opportunities. For example, some of our TAs have a PGCE qualification and have worked with us as part of their preparation for teaching or have held degrees and progressed on into teaching as the experience of TA work is valued for recruitment to teacher training.
