School Staff Instructor (SSI)

Part-time, 3 days per week (22.5 hours) plus occasional weekend work (occasional work to be taken as time off in lieu in the holidays). This is an all year round role to start as soon as possible.

VTG 8 Scale Point 22 - 25 (Salary £20,661 – £22,658 p.a. pro rata) + Health Cash Plan and Benefit package (see website for full details of our employee benefit package)

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

We are seeking to appoint a SSI whose principal role is to facilitate, organize and deliver military training to all members of the CCF at Merchants’ Academy. The SSI is central to the smooth and efficient running of the Contingent, including its administration and training, assisting the Contingent Commander and CFAVs as well as promoting the personal development of the Cadets.

The successful candidate will have:

Qualifications/ · Qualifications must be current i.e. a recent or within 3 year leaver of the Experience forces.

· Skill at arms qualified is an essential requirement.

· SA (M) 07 qualification is essential.

· G4 experience is desirable.

· SA (B) 90 or short range/long range qualification is desirable.

· Knowledge of the cadet forces ethos and a desire to support, encourage and develop cadets.

· An ex-regular or reservist SNCO or have extensive experience of the cadet forces.

· Awareness and understanding of Child Protection Issues

· Experience using MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· An understanding of good data management practice e.g. Data Protection

· A current clean Driving license, a valid D1 license to drive a minibus would be an advantage.
