CAREERS INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE OFFICER

Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) term time only + 2 WEEKS (to include GCE and GCSE results day and 0.5 day before and after)

VTG9 Scale Point 26-29 (Salary £23,865 - £26,470 p.a. pro rata) + Health Cash Plan and Benefit package (see website for full details of our employee benefit package).

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

The Trust is sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol. Both sponsors seek to ensure that all our young people receive a truly inspiring education. Their support, challenge and expertise are greatly valued.

We are seeking to appoint a Careers Information Advice and Guidance Officer to lead the development, promotion and delivery of a model assisting students to access independent and appropriate careers advice and guidance and lead and coordinate on work experience.  You will offer help directly to students and also to employers and staff within the Academy in supporting the wider development of students employability skills through specific activities and creating strong employer links. You will organise and facilitate the widening participation programme.

The successful candidate will have:-

• Educated to a high standard with a minimum of GCSE grade C or higher in English and Mathematics.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience at working in careers information and guidance.
• Must be able to drive and have access to a car.
• Drive the Academy's vision and expectations to have a significant impact on students' life chances
• Be bold, optimistic and tenacious in setting and achieving high standards
• Communicate and relate to students to enable you to build effective working relationships.

It would also be desirable for the successful candidate to have a professional qualification relative to the post.
