BBC School Report 2010
Students from Merchants' Academy took part in this years BBC News School Report, a project through which they learnt about journalism and experienced reporting and filming their own news broadcast.
On 11 March 2010 they took part in the BBC News Day and had one of their stories broadcast live on the internet when the BBC linked live to this webpage.

TRANSITION TO SECONDARY SCHOOL
Sophie, Kelsey and Amber explored the pressures facing young people when they move up to secondary school, and how Merchants' Academy helps new students to settle in.
SOUTH BRISTOL REGENERATION
Kieran, Harry and Lauren looked into the new developments that are happening in the South Bristol area, such as Hengrove Park, and how this regeneration will affect the local community.

ASHTON GATE DEVELOPMENT
Chloe, George and Ryan investigated plans for the new Ashton Gate development and find out how local children will be affected and what benefits it will bring to Bristol.
UNDER-AGE DRINKING
Molly and Johnathan decided to make a film about the problem of under-age drinking and interviewed local people to find out how it affects the local community of Withywood.
