"Hello, my name is Mrs Higgins, and I am Academy Director of Post 16, and in charge of our sixth form.
"Merchants' Academy offers three programmes at Post 16 level which will help bridge the gap between compulsory school and Higher Education or a career. We have an range of vocational courses at level 2 and 3, and are also delighted to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
"Our vision is to develop the ambition, self esteem, confidence and potential of all our students and to widen their horizons through the provision of a first class Further Education. 
"We want life in the sixth form to be markedly different from previous school days. Students who decide to enter the sixth form will receive certain privileges and in return have responsibilities in relation to work, behaviour and the community.
"I would definitely encourage current Year 11 students to continue their studies here in our excellent sixth form and also look forward to welcoming new students who wish to study here at Merchants' post Key Stage 4."
