360 Core and Additional - Btec First Certificate in Applied Science -Entry level Certificate

Exam Timetable:

GCSE is assessed throughout the year with internal assessment activities and Module based exams in November, March and June.

BTEC is assessed continusly throughout the course.

Entry level is assessed with end of topic tests and assignments.

Equipment you will need to bring to the exam:

Pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, pencil sharpener, calculator

Important Topics:

All the core sciences of Chemistry, Physics and Biology are equally important. Also important are peripheral science such as Earth, Space, Biochemistry, Nuclear Physics...

Key things to remember:

Within the content based assessment make sure that you know the difference between naming, describing, explaining and interpreting when giving your answer.

Within the practical assessments, remember how you get valid and reliable results, explain clearly how to plan a method, justify and analysis your results.

How to get top marks in science:

Be confident to have a go at answering all the questions.

Ask if there is something you are not sure about.

Revise well in advance of the exams.

Remember as many key facts to support your explanations.

There are a range of commercially available revision guides as well as online guide books and websites. Past papers are available when appropriate.
