Uniform and Dress Code
The Merchants' Academy will be a purpose built school organised in a very similar way to a large city office. Our practices will mirror those found in industry and commerce and our relationship with industry means that students will often find themselves working alongside employers. So high standards of dress are expected at all times.
Students in years 7 - 11 will be expected to wear:
Male Uniform
- Name Badge
- Academy Tie
- White shirt
- Grey trousers
- Black blazer with Academy logo
- Black or grey socks
- Black plain shoes
Sports Wear
- Black shorts
- Black socks
- Reversible black/white rugby shirt
- House colour polo shirt
- Black track suit
- Trainers
- Suitable carrying bag
Female Uniform

- White blouse/shirt
- Academy grey trousers or
- Academy grey pleated skirt
- Black blazer with Academy logo

All current Withywood Community School students in Years 7-10 will receive a free uniform approximately to the value of £70. This will be the approximate cost to all new Year 7 students starting in 2008.
