Merchants' Academy starts a new academic year this September with a new Principal, Nick Short, following the retirement of Mrs Anne Burrell. Mr Short joins Trystan Williams who also starts as the founding Principal of the new Venturers' Academy, both part of the new Merchants' Academy Trust. Dr Hilary Macaulay, Executive Principal of Merchants' Academy Trust and who also started her role in the Summer term said, 'this is a very exciting time for our academies with new leadership as we work to drive forward our committment to continuous, rapid improvement and outcomes for our young people.'
