Primary students become Scientists

Year 1 explore the solar system

In term 4, students in Year 1 had a visit from the Science Dome as part of their topic on Space.

Students enjoyed climbing into the huge inflatable planetarium to fill their brains with even more super space facts!

The teacher, Steve told all the students about the size of the planets in the solar system and all the children were in awe looking at the images of Jupiter, Mars and Venus and other planets.

It was the perfect way to end the buzz of our space topic and it set the students up well for Science Week and our 'Mission to Mars', that took place 11-15 March!

A special mention to Bobby (from Robin) and Bella (from Wren) for answering so many questions about space and having such a huge amount of knowledge to pass on to the other children (and the adults)!

Year 6 discover the Big Bang!

As part of the amazing Science Week activities, Year Six (Golden Eagle class) journeyed up the M5, destination: Birmingham NEC for the annual Big Bang Fair!

The fair was unlike anything the class had been to before, with hundreds of stalls, showcasing all that is cutting-edge in the world of science and industry.

Year 6 enjoyed lots of talks and shows, and there were multiple opportunities involving hands-on science.

everyone loved all the scientific  explosions!

After being amazed, enthralled and inspired, we made the journey back, hopefully inspired to consider a career in STEM!
