Prefects' Afternoon Tea
On Wednesday 11th October, all Academy Prefects from across Y11, Y12 and Y13 joined together with their Principal, Chair of Governors and their families for a spot of afternoon tea.
Being elected as a Prefect in the Academy is a privilege as it is a leadership role. To be identified by your peers and your teachers as a future leader is a real honour and Mrs Williamson, the Principal emphasised the importance of the role in the Academy in modelling to the community what it is to embody our values and walk the walk at all times.
Prefects help with numerous aspects of the academy day and the role brings with it many forms of responsibility and organisation that will only benefit the students as they continue their journey into employment or further education. All Prefects help out with break and lunch supervision, volunteer at academy events like Sport's Day and Open Evenings and provide mentoring and support to new students.
Chair of Governors, Colin Skellett, congratulated all the students on their appointed roles and reminded them that being a Prefect was a position to be proud of!
