Early Years at Merchants' Primary

Welcome

A warm welcome to all new starters in Early Years and their families.

Here at Merchants' Academy Primary, we are delighted to welcome new pupils to both nursery and reception. This area of the website will have everything you need to help you find out as much as possible about the academy before your child starts with us.

Transition dates to be confirmed for this year, please see below for an example of transition arrangements.

Week Arrangements
WB 22/06/2020
  • Parents of children with offers not yet accepted will be called
WB 29/06/2020
  • Welcome ‘goodie bags’ for children will be delivered
  • First interactive transition video will be available for children to watch
  • Staff will have socially distanced outdoor games with children currently attending the nursery
WB 06/07/2020
  • 1:1 phone calls and/or video calls for parents and children starting in Sept (with teacher)
  • Second interactive transition video will be available for children to watch
  • Staff will have socially distanced outdoor games with children currently attending the nursery
WB 13/07/2020
  • Dates given for starting school schedule in September
  • Third interactive transition video will be available for children to watch
  • Staff will have socially distanced outdoor games with children currently attending the nursery
WB 01/09/2020
  • Families invited in to see the classroom and meet the staff 1:1
  • Video/phone calls offered
WB 08/09/2020
  • Phased induction begins
