Student Leadership

Student leadership builds confidence and raises aspirations. We aim to provide opportunities for learners to develop leadership skills, through a variety of inspiring, challenging and valued projects which impact positively on learning, teaching and well-being for both students and staff.

"Our student leadership team play a very important role in the life of the school - they are role models to the other students in both the Sixth Form and the lower years, and they lead and organise a range of school activities. They represent MA.16. in public events and support students throughout the school."

Sasha Best, Head Girl

"As head boy and head girl we are the student ambassadors across the whole academy, primary and secondary, our aim is to ensure that our academy becomes a better place to be. We work with the Student Council of each year group to identify the changes which will have the biggest impact in supporting student wellbeing and helping the academy progress. We work closely with all members of staff, as well as the primary to ensure that students are given the best education and support they deserve."

Mitch Cormack, Head Boy

As heads of the students across the school, the main focus for our leaders is to be role models, support students and to facilitate student led projects. Our leaders work with outside agencies such as Bristol City to provide opportunities for students and to plan and lead projects that benefit our community.

The Student Leadership team are recognised by our sponsors, the Society of Merchant Venturers formally for their important leadership role by attending the annual Prefects’ Dinner, a black tie event hosted by the Master of the Society at Merchants’ Hall.
